Party Planning Checklist - Are You Missing Something?
Uncategorized February 8th, 2010Planning a party might sound a tad bit overdoing it. Even professional party planners can completely mess up with their plans. A party planning checklist can help your party become a very memorable experience for your guests. In this article, we’ll go through what you need to know when creatign your party planning checklist.
Always make sure you have a proper budget planned for your party. There are many instances where people do end up in debt because they overshoot the budget they set for themselves. Try to work within a set budget listed on a notebook, journal, or ledger. Your budget should contain at least the following:
1) Food - Food is the live of the party and often considered the main event. Always make sure you have a menu of what you plan to serve and that there are more than enough for guests to eat.
2) Rentals - Equipments, furnitures, utensils and even electricity can add a lot to your spending. Make sure to include these expenses and your possible forecast for expenses in the budget ledger. This also includes rentals for equipments used in games in your party
3) Tokens - Party tokens can help people remember how memorable your party was, and they can always have a little memento to remember that occasion by. Tokens need not be expensive, but list the cost anyway in your planning checklist. This is an absolute must for a party to be remembered!
It’s very, very important to have prepared a guest list. I cannot stress this enough!. While you want to invite everyone you know to a party, you really can’t. Instead, you should set a guest list to your party so that everything will run smoothly. List as many people as you can, and give them a call or an invitation so that they can RSVP to your party at the soonest possible time. After you’ve invited everyone on your list, you can stop offering invitations. Always remember to keep an allowance for people who may bring along some of their own friends to the party.
Choose the most appropriate place. You may not be able to hold your party where you want to hold it, but it may be very helpful to have different plans for where to hold it in. You need not hold the party in the most posh or fashionable place, but that doesn’t mean you can hold it in the cheapest possible place where danger or mishaps lurk anywhere and everywhere. Safety is really important, so make sure you location is a safe one.
Again, several important things to keep in mind when choosing a place are: the safety and security of the location, how easy it is for guests to get there and parking space availability.
Emergencies: Everything Can Happen In a Party
While it’s mostly fun and games, unfortunate things can happen, so you must always be prepared for the worst (especially for drinking parties and for children’s parties). Always have a list of emergency numbers handy just in case anything goes wrong in your party. If anything goes wrong, you’re assured that you and your guests are safe from any accident, mishap, or untoward incidents. If there are childrens at your party, always keep a list of their parents or guardian’s contact in the guest list.
Having a party planning checklist can be what determines a successful and memorable party compared to a complete flunk. While it may seem overkill to plan, parties can always be successful if you stick to the plan as much as possible. With these tips, you can plan for the worst and hope for - and enjoy - the best your party has to offer.
